Presenter Frequently Asked Questions


Thank you for agreeing to present at the n4a 43rd Annual Conference & Tradeshow. n4a is thrilled to provide a high-level educational and networking experience for their attendees, loaded with innovative tools and ideas that can be implemented in their own communities. As a presenter, thank you again for the part you'll play in making that happen in 2018.
Our goal is to help prepare you and ensure your experience is a comfortable and successful one. Making sure that you’re registered and that you’ll have all the tools you need for a smooth presentation is crucial.


Can I still make changes to my workshop Presenters?

Yes, you can add or remove presenters to your workshop here: Note: Changes made after May 10, 2018, will not be reflected in the printed Conference Program.


What is my proposal number?

You can find your proposal number in your acceptance email from sent on March 6, 2018. Email if you cannot locate this email. 


What is the date/time of my presentation?

Where will my workshop or Fast-Track Session be held?

The n4a 2018 Conference is taking place at the Sheraton Grand ChicagoWorkshop and Fast-Track session room assignments will be listed in the printed Conference Program book that you receive at the Registration Desk. If you need help locating your room, please refer to the property map in your Conference Program, or ask one of the Registration staff members for assistance.


Do I need to register if I am a presenter?

Yes, all presenters must register and pay to attend the Conference. Click here to register now. We encourage you to register before the Early Bird deadline of June 29, 2017. Email if you have any questions about registration.


I have been accepted to present a Fast-Track Session. What does that entail?

n4a looks forward to these dynamic sessions that will showcase your expertise while interacting with attendees. In your Fast-Track session, you’ll have 15 minutes to present on your topic and 15 minutes for an interactive Q&A. Fast-Track sessions should not be PowerPoint presentation "heavy". You will be able to upload your presentation for attendees to access. See below for details.


What is the audio-visual and seating set up in my presentation room?

Each workshop and Fast-Track session will be set in a theater-style based on room size, with a podium and head table in front, and a materials table in the back near the entrance. 

The following audio-visual equipment will be supplied in workshop rooms (not Fast-Track sessions):

  • LCD Projector
  • Screen
  • PC Computer
  • Wired Podium Microphone
  • Wired Head Table Microphone

If you require additional equipment, we are happy to connect you with the audio-visual provider to place an order and make direct payments. Please communicate any additional needs that you have NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MAY 14, 2018 to You will receive the audio-visual provider’s contact information at the beginning of July.


Should I bring my presentation with me? 

If you are a workshop presenter, yes. Each PC computer will be loaded with Microsoft Office products, so presenters are only required to bring their presentation on a PC-compatible USB. Please set your PowerPoint presentations to widescreen format. Due to their unique nature, tablet or Macintosh users should plan to bring their own adapters to connect to the LCD projector. You must use Microsoft PowerPoint (Keynote presentations will not be compatible). Given the short break between some sessions, it is important that you have fully tested your presentation file and equipment before you arrive at the Conference. Please also arrive with enough time to load your presentation.


If you are a Fast-Track session presenter, you will not be presenting a PowerPoint.


How can I share my presentation/workshop materials with attendees? 

Due to numerous attendee requests, we are asking all presenters to upload their relevant presentation slides/materials through our online system in advance of the Conference. These will be posted on the Conference website for easy attendee access. Click here to upload your presentation/materials. 


Where should I book my hotel reservations? 

n4a has contracted one host hotel. Visit the Accommodations page to view details, check availability, and book your room. Hotels are expected to fill quickly.


Are you still seeking 2018 Conference Speakers? 

At this point, the agenda is finalized and n4a is no longer seeking workshop presenters. We encourage you to sign up for the n4a Conference mailing list by clicking here to be notified of the 2019 Call for Submissions dates and deadlines.
